Job Title: CNC Programmer – 2nd SHIFT (4pm start time) - Job Description


Summary: Programs and Operates CNC Lathe/Mill to manufacture components and finished goods to the customer's specification.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ability to read and write G-Code Programs (Mastercam a plus)
Read & Interpret Blueprints
Basic Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Use measurement equipment (ring and plug gauges, caliper, micrometer shadow graph)
Comprehend fundamentals of machining for manual and CNC machines, lathe and mill
Run/operate CNC lathe and milling machines
Conduct/assist with machine set ups
o Change/design/manufacture lathe jaws
o Develop work holding fixtures
o Change tools, offsets & tool lengths
o Run first part and obtain QC approval
Modify program by selecting optimal machining conditions: feed, speed, depth of cut, & axis movements and positioning
Demonstrate shop math skills
Educate machinists how to operate machines and perform set-ups
Conduct and verify minimal machine maintenance has been done on equipment prior to use (fluid levels, filters, cleaning)
Operates drill presses, punch presses, and deburring equipment/machines to assist in assembly or finishing operation.
Performs all duties of Material Handler or Laborer.
Performs all required inspections and filling out inspection sheets.
Maintains material identification.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word / Excel) a plus
Experience with Epicor Vista a plus



Supervisory Responsibilities:
