CNC Lathe Operator/Setup Person - Job Description

Avers Machine & Gear, a TMA Member company, is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Set Up Person/ Operator to add to our team in Schiller Park, IL. Avers Machine & Gear is a growing precision manufacturing company located in the NW Suburbs (near O'hare Airport) in Schiller Park, IL.

The CNC Lathe Set Up/ Operator will be responsible for performing the setup of machine, in process inspection, and running of small to medium batch production jobs. The ideal candidate will be team oriented with a good attitude.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC Lathes, Okuma experience a plus
• Work well in team environment
• Operate, load/unload material, indicate vices/fixtures, and deburr
• Inspect and verify conformance to specifications, high blueprint reading ability
• Provide crucial input on work holding , CNC tool path, and tool/cutter selection

Requirements:

• CNC operating experience
• Able to program a plus , if no experience (will train)
• Mastery of setting up fixtures, tooling, vices, and clamps
• Operate machines running complex and high tolerance components
• Follows all safety and work rules and practices
• Passionate about prototyping and machining
• Strong work ethic and highly motivated
• Meticulous attention to detail and well organized
• Strong verbal communication skills, team oriented
• Excellent mathematic knowledge including multiplication, division, fractions.
• Independent and willing to take initiative
• Able to work in a fast-paced constantly changing environment with tight deadlines and occasional long hours
• Bilingual in English and/or Spanish and Polish a plus, not required
