Primary Function:

The Quality Technician is responsible for following Pioneer Service procedures to conduct first article, in-process and final inspection on representative parts of each lot produced to ensure that parts provided to the customers are defect-free. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager. Use of all hand-held metrology equipment (Plug gages, Ring gages, Micrometers, etc.) a must. Technician is responsible for maintaining all quality records in MRP System, the programming and use of the Automated equipment like Micro-Vu and or Keyence Vision system is a plus.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Performing routine equipment maintenance.
  • Calibrating equipment to industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting equipment failures
  • Conducting equipment repairs.
  • Updating software with calibrated records
  • Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency.
  • Perform first article, in-process as well as final inspection on representative parts utilizing different automated and manual equipment for inspection
  • Execute knowledge of GD&T, QA methods and standards, inspection procedures and QA instructions
  • Update and maintain inspection documents
  • Ensure all departments have calibrated inspection equipment
  • Support, understand and comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Provide quality inspection of parts received from outside vendors


  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience preferred but not required
  • Quality Inspection Experience Working knowledge of measurement instruments
  • Demonstrate competence in using comparators, calipers, micrometers and hardness testers.
  • Must have good English written and verbal communication skills
  • Good arithmetic skills are required Mechanical aptitude 5+ years
  • Working knowledge of industry standards including AS9100 and ISO900
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Sense of urgency

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to walk, stand, sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel parts. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with appropriate assistance. Must be able to be on feet (not sitting) up to 95% of the time.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Ear protection may be required for certain processes. Closed-toed shoes and eye protection are required for all activity on the shop floor.

General Pre-employment drug testing and background check required.
