Quality Manager - Job Description


Location: Chicago, IL

Position Summary: The scope of the Quality Manager position encompasses the quality activities associated with production and maintenance, including maintaining ISO disciplines within the management system via audits and Management Review meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quality activities in processes
  • Review and respond to customer and management concerns, including technical questions
  • Maintain an ISO & 5S discipline throughout the shop
  • Maintain ISO 9001:2015 accreditation for the quality management system
  • Pursue IATF 16949 and A2LA ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation
  • Implement Continuous Improvement programs
  • Establish quality acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain color appearance standards
  • Generate Corrective Actions and Preventative Actions
  • Promote a culture of quality awareness
  • Review and document CSRs and new customer quality expectations
  • Conduct regular MRM for quality activities
  • Maintain annual calibration of devices with traceability
  • Collect and summarize data and reports for audits
  • Maintain Quality Office cleanliness
  • Maintain a clean and organized lab
  • Develop part files for management based on the Incoming Orders
  • Perform MP&L studies of random parts
  • Determine takt and process times
  • Perform internal audits as needed
  • Improve and maintain methods to inspect, test, and control the reliability of processes and equipment
  • Verify that processes adhere to quality standards including control plans and FMEAs
  • Complete action list items
  • Track problems, issues, and projects (this requires being on floor)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, & electronic thickness instruments
  • Understanding of chemistry, wet chemistry analysis techniques, titrations, and specific gravity measurements
  • Coordinate and manage the lab
  • Coordinate and manage employees

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in relevant field.
  • Bilingual is preferred but not required English and Spanish
