CNC Programmer - Job Description


Job Title:

CNC Programmer

Reports to:

Production Manager

General Description:

Improve existing and develop new processes throughout the general factory; program CNC equipment; write new and update code for existing programs, create new drawings for parts and tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Programming (60%)
    • Program and or Setup CNC Swiss, CNC Lathes, and CNC Machining Centers for new product launches or current product improvements as assigned
    • Write and optimize CNC programs to create parts on CNC Swiss, CNC Lathes, and CNC Machining Centers
    • Modify and / or write G and M code programs directly on machine controls
    • Assure that new product launches are successful in meeting customer quality expectation and meets expected cycle times per the quote method
  • Drawings & Other Documentation (30%)
    • Create proper documentation including tool sheets, set up instructions, and operator work instructions
  • Process Improvement (10%)
    • Assist in troubleshooting processes and procedures for engineering
    • Assist in improving existing processes

Minimum Educational Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in a related field
  • Or equivalent training and experience in manufacturing technology such as CAD & manual drafting or automation technology
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in CAD software
