Press Operator - Job Description

Amity Die and Stamping is seeking an individual with experience working in a manufacturing plant as a Punch Press operator/set-up person. We have availability on 1st Shift with minimum of 40 hours weekly with overtime as needed. This position reports directly to the Stamping Production Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Familiar with the Quality Policy and Objectives ISO 9001-2015
• Completion of Production Paperwork
• Obtain the required forms, specifications and instructions from QC
• Must be able to read a vernier/dial caliper and micrometer
• Understanding of in-process inspections as required
• Accurate part count and time keeping for each job
• Following Packaging / Labeling instructions per job traveler instructions
• Report press/die problems to supervisor, reporting of actual or potential product quality issues to QC or Supervisor
• Understanding of Smart Pac or Wintress press operating systems
• Understanding for setting material feeds using mechanical, servo or air feeds
• Understanding of set pilot-release properly
• Understanding on how to straighten material properly using a material straightener
• Stopping production when known or suspected nonconforming conditions exist
• Ability to lift up to 30-50 lbs
• Housekeeping in all areas

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Preferred High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Experience working in a manufacturing plant
• Experience operating/set-up of Punch Presses (10 to 300 tons)
• Strong oral and written communication skills; bilingual Spanish is a plus.
• Must be able to work as a team member and not an individual
• Dependable and punctual.
