Customer Service Specialist - Job Description


About Us: Sko-Die is a privately held custom stamping and assembly manufacturer located in Morton Grove, IL. We specialize in supporting manufacturers from initial product development into full production. Our products are used in a variety of industries and applications to include aerospace, industrial, and electrification sectors.

Description: This position reports to the Customer Service Manager and is responsible for managing all customer service functions for the company. This position focuses on customer relationships, order management and business development activities in conjunction with company Sales and Marketing initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer service functions to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the overall sales process to include but not limited to Sales Order Entry, Vetting of inquiries, Production Planning, complete CRM tasks as assigned.
  • Serve as primary conduit for inbound customer communications.
  • Coordinate customer inquiries, complaints and other requests with the Sales, Quality, Engineering and Operations teams to facilitate accurate and timely responses.
  • Monitor and assess pricing, deliveries, schedule changes and special instructions and routings.
  • Monitor Stocking Programs, Kanban agreements, Forecast Data and coordinate customer demand information with Planning and Operations team.
  • Work with sales on new product launch, assuring customer requirements are accurately identified and available to Engineering, Quality & Operations teams.
  • Assist in various Marketing activities consistent with company Marketing strategy, as directed.
  • Travel to customers, suppliers and trade shows where required.
  • Monitor and maintain site inbox for incoming quotation requests and assign to appropriate sales contacts.
  • Maintain customer portals and all applicable activities – incoming RFQ's, coordination of shipments, ASN's, collaborations, OTD performance and other functions as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree and have successful experience in Customer Service functions and in managing customer relationships. Previous Manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Requires proficiency in any and all systems and technologies as utilized by the company to include, ERP Systems (Epicor), Microsoft Office platforms, Salesforce or other CRM systems and any other programs that the company elects to utilize.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Occasional light travel requiring overnight stays may be required.
