Description

We are seeking an experienced Laser Programmer to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, nesting, and optimizing CNC laser cutting machines to produce sheet metal parts from engineering drawings. Experience with Salvagnini and/or Trumpf software/systems is a strong plus. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with our diverse team and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to develop efficient nesting and cutting programs.
  • Program and operate CNC fiber/CO2 laser cutting machines for sheet metal fabrication.
  • Optimize material usage, reduce waste, and improve cutting efficiency through nesting and path adjustments.
  • Perform setup, troubleshooting, and minor maintenance on laser equipment.
  • Collaborate with production team to ensure quality standards and on-time delivery.
  • Document programs, setups, and job processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols in a manufacturing environment

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in CNC laser programming and operation in sheet metal fabrication.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Experience with Salvagnini (e.g., Metal Studio, Metal Nest) and/or Trumpf (e.g., Trumpf Flux) software is a significant advantage.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal materials, tolerances, and fabrication processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T on technical drawings.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (fluent speaking, reading, and writing preferred).
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in CNC/manufacturing is a plus.
