The Position:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician/Documentation Coordinator to support our quality and inspection processes within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is critical in ensuring products meet customer and regulatory requirements by managing quality documentation, supporting inspection activities, and maintaining quality systems. You will serve as a key link between production, inspection, and quality engineering to keep operations moving efficiently and accurately. Salary Range: $50,000-$70,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
Job Duties:
Quality Documentation
- Prepare and compile FAI (First Article Inspection) and PPAP packages
- Review inspection reports and certifications for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain document control, revision tracking, and traceability
- Generate Certificates of Conformance (CoCs) and shipment documentation
Inspection Support
- Perform basic dimensional inspections using:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Height gages
- Thread gages
- Balloon engineering drawings and verify all characteristics are accounted for
- Record and review inspection data for accuracy
Quality Systems
- Maintain calibration records and gage tracking systems
- Support internal quality audits
- Track nonconformances and assist with corrective action activities
Operations Support
- Verify documentation before jobs move to the next operation
- Troubleshoot and resolve documentation issues impacting inspection or shipping
- Collaborate with machinists, inspectors, and supervisors to ensure workflow continuity
The Right Person/What we need from you:
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or quality
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand basic GD&T
- Hands-on experience with standard inspection tools
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills across departments
Preferred:
- Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, or IATF quality systems
- Familiarity with FAI and PPAP processes
- Experience using ERP/QMS systems (e.g., Made2Manage, UniPoint)
