Considerations: Chicago Glue & Machine is a leading adhesive and adhesive equipment distributor in the Midwest and one of the largest in the United States. The Inside Sales Business Development Associate plays a critical role in driving growth by managing inbound sales inquiries, developing new business opportunities, managing existing accounts and supporting outside sales representatives.
This role serves as a primary point of contact for prospects and customers who can be supported remotely. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, disciplined CRM usage, curiosity about customer operations, and the ability to connect customer needs with CGM solutions.
Approximately 70 percent of the role is spent on phone and video calls, email communication, CRM activity, and virtual meetings with prospects and customers.
Approximately 20 percent of the role is dedicated to managing key accounts in territories where CGM does not have physical representation.
Approximately 10 percent of the role may involve travel for customer meetings, trade shows, training, or internal collaboration.

Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and respond to inbound sales inquiries in a timely, professional manner
- Qualify inbound leads and route opportunities appropriately between business development, inside and outside sales
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities
- Maintain and expand the company's prospect and customer database
- Own accurate and timely CRM updates including notes, activities, opportunity stages, and next steps
- Conduct outbound prospecting to identify new business opportunities
- Manage a defined territory or group of key accounts supported remotely
- Identify customer needs and position CGM products, services, and technical expertise accordingly
- Research accounts, industries, and market trends to support sales and marketing efforts
- Support quoting, follow up, and coordination with internal teams as needed
- Use and follow tools and processes within the Quality Management System
- Support marketing initiatives such as trade shows, campaigns, blog content, or customer outreach
- Leverage, follow, and continuously improve CGM's sales process
