Business Development Specialist - Job Description


About Us: Sko-Die is a privately held custom stamping and assembly manufacturer located in Morton Grove, IL. We specialize in supporting manufacturers from initial product development into full production. Our products are used in a variety of industries and applications to include aerospace, industrial, and electrification sectors.

Description: This position reports to the Director of Sales and is responsible for expanding revenue and managing the New Business development process. This position focusses on expanding current customer business and identifying and securing new growth opportunities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage new business opportunities through prospecting initiatives.
  • Expand active customer relationships to optimize opportunities and grow our presence with current customer base.
  • Coordinate inquiries with the Sales, Quality, Engineering and Operations teams to facilitate accurate and timely responses.
  • Manage Customer and Opportunity information in the company CRM System (Sales Force).
  • Monitor customer forecast data and develop and coordinate strategic planning of customer demand with Planning and Operations team.
  • Coordinate new product launch process, assuring customer requirements are accurately identified and available to Engineering, Quality and Operations teams.
  • Contribute to ongoing Marketing initiatives consistent with our Marketing strategy, as directed.
  • Travel to customers, suppliers and trade shows where required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Undergraduate college degree
  • Minimum of 3+ years successful new business development experience.
  • Requires proficiency in business systems and technologies as utilized by the company to include, CRM systems (SalesForce), Microsoft Office, ERP Systems (Epicor, SAP, etc.) and any other programs that the company elects to utilize.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing industry experience is preferred, but not required.
